my new band, Flat Earth - Steppin Out
we are members of City Dweller, Rivalries, Sweatshop, Athens Polytechnic and so on, playing and writing hardcore you can well enjoy and get down to. Recorded at practice, 16/04/12. Cheers to crazy ian.
The cover for Death Grips’ album no.2, Money Store. They’re about as hiphop as Springsteen and as punk as socks, they put out hard hitting new music and it’s up to the listener to try and deal with it. I wonder what inevitable genre tag will bubble up to the surface to celebrate the coming of something new.
Anyway, a new track will also be released later on their website, as if the previous four tracks weren’t enough. Whether this is Epic’s doing or not, they seem to have a fresh initiative on how to get an unexcitable music fan with the world’s library at their free browsing, excited, for an album which promises so much.
Paradoxically, the most anti-commercial release of recent times could prove to be commercially successful. Which would be nice.

first UK Pig Destroyer show in 8 years! will endeavour to be at Damnation Festival again this time round.
A great song from one of the undoubtedly top metal albums of the last decade, certainly one of the most re-inventive of its genre.
Mastodon - Island
However, it struck me that this song is not a million miles away removed from some of the technical hardcore in the UK; in fact, listen to a Pariso or Self Loathing song directly after this and the resemblance is flatteringly uncanny. Will people look back in a few years time and revere the first efforts of these bands? Hope so.
Culo - Neighborhood Watch
Total stumble upon reaps maximum reward and fast hardcore glory. Best type of song.
the new Sectarian Violence track. going to see Hammers, Trainwreck, Light Bearer and Sky:lark! tonight. listening to Abandon Ship and wishing i was a little older. checking out NO for the first time and feeling like a fool, but a contented fool nonetheless. band practice with Flat Earth tomorrow, the best band to be in right now. trying to find out when the La URSS / SUDOR london show is, as i’m clueless and would love to see them again. kind of wishing i was living in Brighton for the sheer density of great bands they have - and plus i’ve just heard the Perspex Flesh tape and they’re playing on one of those rad Brighton shows.
so much hardcore i can barely move apart from to go to shows or turn the speakers up. help.
